The First E-Scooter Launched In 1915

Over a hundred years ago the first e-scooter had been launched – crazy, right? The beginning of the electric scooter began with something known as the ‘Autoped‘. It had a top speed of 20mph and had some big 10 inch tyres! The Autoped was operated more like a car than an electrically run e-scooter. The handlebars could be pushed forward in aid of operating the clutch, and pulled bac to disengage the clutch and get the brakes working. Would you ride an Autoped today?

Even back at the start of the 1900s, e-scooters were used as an amazing way of commuting! Men, women and businesses all found themselves getting to and from work with one of the Autopeds and for great reason too!
